Let me share my profile for today with you all - maybe you'll get a chuckle out of it too. People wonder why I constantly whine for a vacation, not that working 6 days a week for over 3 years wouldn't do that to anybody, so here's a little peek into a conversation with a coworker this afternoon: Me: 7 weeks till Thanksgiving! 6 more work weeks!  Her: What day is Thanksgiving on this year? Me: Thursday, Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. (at 54, you'd think that one might have registered....um, no.) Her: Are we open that day? Me: No, we always close for Thanksgiving - usually M-TH. One year it was just W-TH and once is was for the whole week, THAT's what I want again, cross your fingers and PRAY. Her: Really? Me: Yeah. How long have you worked here?! (she usually claims 13 yrs) How could you NOT know that?! I LIVE for Thanksgiving! Her: Well, I used to work somewhere else too and they only closed for Thanksgiving day. (she hasn't worked there for 3 yrs) Oh good, turkey, turkey, yum, bring on the turkey, can't wait to eat turkey. Me: SCREW the turkey, who cares about eating turkey? I want a damn day OFF! ::sigh:: |
